Serving our Savior Ministry
The Serving Our Savior Ministry of Fort Payne First Methodist Church (S.O.S) is a Christian based organization funded solely by donations from the church. This program is designed to assist families local to Dekalb County that may find themselves in a temporary bind. The S.O.S team is happy to assist with groceries and other essential bills, such as utilities or rent. The S.O.S Ministry meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm-3:00pm in Cobble Hall, located to the right of the Sanctuary.
In spring of 2024, the S.O.S Ministry was recognized by the Food Bank of North Alabama after receiving an “A” rating on their USDA audit. This would not have been possible without the support of First Methodist Church and the dedication of the S.O.S team.
